Couple session in Cassis, South of France.
Many couples choose this type of session in Cassis at a pivotal moment in their relationship. Sometimes to celebrate an important trip, sometimes to mark a more symbolic milestone: a recent engagement, wedding plans, or even a secret proposal.
These moments, seemingly simple, often become defining memories: the ones we look back on years later and say, “This is where it all really began.”
Situated between Marseille and Toulon, Cassis offers all the advantages of the South of France in a small town. That’s why I love going there for your photo shoots, whether at sunrise or sunset.
Sylvia Calmet, your photographer for your photo shoot in Cassis :
My name is Sylvia Calmet. I am a destination wedding photographer in Provence, South of France. I live and work there all year long. I really love when I can make you discover this beautiful area. Cassis is one of the charming village I love to photograph your couple session in the South of France.

What I particularly like about couple sessions in Cassis is that they closely resemble the energy of an intimate wedding. There are few poses and little intervention, but real attention is paid to what is happening between you: spontaneous gestures, silences, glances. Many of the couples I photograph here do not live in France and are discovering Cassis during a trip which makes each image even more meaningful.
For some couples, this session is actually their first experience before making a stronger commitment, in the same spirit: something personal, far from traditional formats, deeply rooted in emotion.
Start your photo session at Cap Canaille:
As the day begins, capturing the sunrise over Cap Canaille, one of the tallest sea cliffs in Europe, becomes the perfect beginning. With hues of blue, yellow and and pink painting the sky, couples can start their session with photographs that encapsulate the beauty and romance of Cassis. For those looking to blend natural beauty with intimate moments, a couple’s session in Cassis promises a truly magical experience. Imagine: it’s 7:00 am and no one is there beside you, me and your love. Can you feel the wind? It’s quite chilly up there but the sunrise is amazing.
Cap Canaille is also perfect for the sunset but will be more crowded.
And why not go downtown Cassis?
The session continues with a stroll through Cassis’ charming village center, where cobblestone streets are lined with pastel-colored houses, cozy cafes, and local boutiques such as “Café Liautaud“. Capturing moments against the backdrop of vibrant facades and quaint alleyways, couples feel as if they’ve stepped into a Provencal painting. The view of the Château de Cassis in the background is amazing and beautiful. If you booked a sunset photo session with me, there are a lot of nice restaurants around the port where you could eat fish and dishes and specialties from Marseille, South of France.
Cassis attracts couples from all over the world, often in search of something different: softer light, a slower pace, a feeling of being in a timeless place. For many, this photo shoot becomes one of the few tangible memories of their time in the South of France: a fragment of a journey transformed into a lasting memory, far beyond a simple souvenir photo.

Fancy a coffee or a drink on the port of Cassis?
Café Liautaud is one of my favorites. It’s welcoming & charming either for a coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening. When you’re there around 8am, you can smell the croissants in the café, see the fish vendors on the harbor or hear the locals and their typical southern French accent.
They just finished the renovation of the Café and the Hotel. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy Cassis for sunrise or sunset.
How about finishing off your photo session with a trip to Roches Blanches?
If you fancy another place around Cassis to drink a cocktail in front of the Cap Canaille: the Roches Blanches are another perfect spot. With an intimate beach below the hotel and restaurant, this place offers an incredible view of the whole port of Cassis. On the beach, you can admire one of the town’s lighthouses. There you can imagine all the sailors’ stories that have been told on arriving or leaving this port.
This type of session can sometimes be part of a larger story, an engagement, a marriage proposal, or simply a way to celebrate a bond before a new stage in life.

When traveling far from home, every moment takes on a different meaning.
A couple’s photo shoot in Cassis is also a way to capture that precise feeling: being somewhere else, together, in a setting unlike any other.
It is often this aspect that appeals to international couples: the idea that these images will tell not only their story, but also a place and a time in their lives.
