That’s exactly the story of this intimate wedding at the Belles Rives, in Juan-les-Pins, conceived as a family and friends gathering before anything else.
The Belles Rives, a Setting That Needs Nothing Added
It would be hard to find anywhere more refined, in the quietest possible way, than this legendary hotel on the French Riviera. Its elegant Art Deco lines, its terrace suspended above the Mediterranean and the singular light of Cap d’Antibes. The venue carries a quiet sophistication all on its own. It’s the kind that never needs to shout to be noticed. That’s exactly what makes it such a fitting backdrop for a wedding built around intimacy, the beauty is already there.
My name is Sylvia Calmet, and I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to a world that’s very close to my heart: intimate weddings.
A gathering, more than a reception
No endless guest list, no sprawling logistics: just close family and lifelong friends. From the very start, you can feel that the day was designed to be lived together rather than put on display. The preparations themselves follow that same philosophy : simple, calm, unadorned. The couple got ready together, just the two of them and their dog by their side, in a lightness that can’t be manufactured and that gives the photographs a rare sincerity.
A palette built around simplicity
The colors and flowers were chosen to extend that same sense of restrained elegance: soft, natural tones, never loud, in dialogue with the deep blue of the sea and the pale stone of the hotel rather than competing with them. Every bouquet, every floral arrangement seems designed to melt into the landscape rather than dominate it.

Among all the carefully chosen elements, hand fans emerged as a visual thread running through the entire day. In photographs, they bring a small suspended gesture, timeless elegance that recalls the French Riviera of another era without ever tipping into pastiche or excess. A simple accessory that, repeated and caught in the light, becomes a true narrative motif is what I love during weddings!
The landscape as guest of honor
It’s impossible to tell this day’s story without mentioning the natural setting that accompanied it from start to finish: the sea, the shifting late-afternoon light, the silhouettes of pine trees against the horizon. Here, the landscape isn’t a mere backdrop, it’s part of the story itself. All the photos I was able to take are meant to do it justice.
Fireworks to close the evening:
And then, to mark the moment without ever overdoing it, fireworks lit up the sky above the sea. It was a suspended instant, sealing the day on a note both festive and quietly restrained.
